The Vasas Intesa Sanpaolo U13 Youth Football Tournament started in September 2008. It is thanks to the Intensa Sanpaolo banking group, through their contacts, that from the first year number of 4 teams to the 7 well known clubs that took part in the next tournament, the event has grown, which has seen AC Milan as regular participants, as well as BETA Sarajevo. Others clubs taking part include Dinamo Kiev, Dinamo Zagreb and Inter Baku.
Following the success of the first two tournaments, we are delighted that this has turned out into a serious international event. Thanks to Intesa Bank's backing, the U15 side took part in the U15 event in Koper, which was held in April, while in May, the U14 side participated in a similar tournament to the one here in Budapest, which was held in Sarajevo.
It was only natural, after all of this, that we host the event this September, in what will be the third Vasas Intesa Sanpaolo tournament. Besides the already mentioned AC Milan and BETA Sarajevo, there are other big club's competing this year, including Trenkwalder Admira, Olimpija Llubljana, as well as Crvena Zvezda, who will be participating for the second time. The event also welcomes Slovan Bratislava and Hajduk Split who will be making their debut this year, and they will help to increase the level of the event even further. Thanks to our sponsors and the owners, we will try to create the best culture possible in order to provide the best level for the participating teams in the tournament, so that all the participating children, coaches, team managers and parents can enjoy an unforgettable experience. We would like to wish all of the teams a successful and fruitful participation, and wish the visiting parents, the best support.
